Veena Shivpuri has a Masters degree in Hindi Literature. After writing short stories for mainstream Hindi magazines, she wrote and translated materials for various national and international NGOs working for women and children, edited a Hindi magazine Sabla for rural neo-literates and performed nukkad nataks (street plays).
