Nyadosh the cow has a fierce gleam in her eyes and a furious appetite. She chomps on textbooks, feasts on frocks and devours anything blue in colour. But once she gets on the ilish fish trail, there's just no stopping her… This comical tale of a common cow with uncommon taste is one to relish. Nyadosh's extraordinary appetite unfolds through vivid photo collages, offset by light black-and-white doodles. Along with the almost unbelievable true-life story from one of India’s best known writers, they give readers a hilariously different depiction of what we usually think of as a mild-mannered animal! 2016: Nominated for the Crossword Book Awards – Children's Writing

Wonderful visual imagination
Ruchi Shah takes Nyadosh the cow to a surreal level, visualizing Nyadosh as one who becomes what she eats! Once you crack this code, you can only marvel at the designer's wonderful visual imagination and skill. Thinking about the life and times of the story's context (it was written in Bengali in the late 1960s) asks of the reader a pause for reflection. Many of its pages have an idea embedded within that can be drawn out, and yet the story as a whole leaves you thinking – incredible! Goodbooks.in
I don't think I've ever read anything quite like this book...
A series of photo collages filled with common elements such as books, bottles, vegetables, fabrics, and other found objects accompany black and white sketches of this cow's unusual tastes... This book made me smile while also shaking my head in amazement at the creativity of the story and those images. Oh, my! Goodreads
